In the quaint town of Brompton, set amongst the hilly dales of England, resided a peculiar creature, a dog of great notoriety. This canine was known as Roger, an eccentric mongrel of mysterious breed, bearing a countenance eternally etched with a forlorn sadness. A certain irony, for his disposition was one of unceasing mischief. To curb Roger’s zestful antics, his master, a dignified blacksmith named Samuel, kept him tethered by a hefty chain of iron.
