Family of Sheffield stabbing victim release picture

The family of a Sheffield man who died following an altercation in the
Hillsborough area of Sheffield have released a picture of him.

Gavin Singleton, 31, was taken to hospital in the early hours of Sunday
23 September, after he was left injured following an altercation on
Walkley Lane.

He remained critically ill in hospital but sadly died on Saturday
morning (6 October).

A post-mortem examination carried out yesterday (Monday 8 October)
concluded that Mr Singleton died as a result of a stab wound to the

His family are being supported by specialist officers and have released
a picture of Mr Singleton as they ask that their privacy is respected
during this incredibly difficult time.

The investigation in to Mr Singleton’s death continues and a 24-year-old
man, charged in connection, remains in police custody.
